Mae is a five piece from Virginia Beach, Virginia who recorded, produced and engineered their debut album, Destination: Beautiful, in a small shed behind a contractor's warehouse in Chesapeake, VA. The album was released in late February 2003 on Tooth & Nail Records and quickly gained critical and popular acclaim, recently being listed in Alternative Press as one of "100 Bands You Need to Know". Since its release, Mae has been touring non stop supporting such bands as Something Corporate, Coheed and Cambria, The Starting Line, Brand New, Sugarcult among others, as well as successfully headlining their first nationwide tour in January of 2004. Additionally, the year 2004 marks Mae's first advance into the international market as they accepted the invitation to play in Japan and are now entertaining offers from Europe and Australia to take their music further than Cogan's on Colonial Avenue in Norfolk, VA (their first show ever).
Formed 2 years ago, Mae has evolved from a simple recording project between Dave and Jacob into a cohesive and unique musical expression, incorporating the creative talent of three additional personalities through driving guitars, melodic keyboards, diverse rhythm, and soaring vocals. Over the course of touring to support their debut, winning hearts and minds domestically and abroad, Mae has become even stronger and more unified in their craft and songwriting, the product of which will be seen in their highly anticipated upcoming release.
